Lone Woman in the Wilderness: Pet Peeves

I hated the movie, Braveheart. Hated it. I think it is one of the WORST movies I’ve EVER seen. I have come to believe I am the only person on this planet who feels this way, and I am amazed at the passion around and complete adoration of this movie. I saw it on TV, so I suppose it is possible the edited parts are what make it the amazing, brilliant movie that all of the world thinks it is – but I seriously doubt it. I say, “yuck!” to Braveheart.

I also believe I am the lone person in the world when it comes to my feelings about sushi. Yep - I hate it. Raw fish and seaweed belong in the ocean, folks. There are some types I will eat if I have to, but I would NEVER choose to get sushi at a restaurant. I dislike it so much that I’ve wondered if this spastic sushi craze is just a conspiracy or maybe a trendy, faddy kind of thing and people really don’t like it as much as they say they do. I say, “yuck!” to sushi.

And – I’m pretty sure I’m the only person who is anti-Pioneer Treks. I’m philosophically opposed to the things. Do we actually think we’re having the same experience the pioneers had? Please. I don’t doubt people have wonderful and spiritual experiences on them, but let’s not pretend that we are now like the pioneers because we went on “Trek.” We have cars, well-soled shoes, access to hospitals, plenty of food and water if necessary. Where is the similarity? I know I’m a little heathen, but I say, “yuck!” to pioneer treks.

So – there you go. Proof my brothers are right: I’m a freak. :)

So. I've never seen Braveheart - not even the TV version. Like the soundtrack but I get the impression it might be a little slow for me. TOTALLY agree with the sushi thing. Can people really like eating nasty raw fish? But I think the same about beer, too. Although never tasted it, it smells NASTY!!! Do people just decide that it's the cool thing to do so they learn to like the flavors of sushi and beer? Not for me. Give me some well cooked chicken and a water. And last, I've always said I was born in this generation because there's no way I'd be able to wear a dress across the plains... AMEN, sister!!
