I am returned from hearing Australia sing - and I loved it. I took naps, saw beautiful Australian landscapes and sunrises, read a book, shopped a lot (Chadstone and Queen Victoria Markets and some great little shops in Bendigo), spent time with my dear friends (including a visit to the hospital one night with Kelsey who had a bad allergic reaction to prawns, and a fun birthday celebration for Terri at the Indian restaurant), saw kangaroos and some favorite sites in the city, ate almost all of my favorite Aussie foods (including chips every day and an amazing Pavlova Rhiannon made me) and the highlight: I saw the Melbourne Temple for the first time and attended the wedding of Stevie and Bec on a perfect sunny day.
It was a wonderful trip and I can't wait to go back - except I don't think I'll fly for a while - that 15 hour plane ride cooped up in Ecconomy Class with 300 other people is a shocker!
Thanks to the Rechters for their hospitality and kindness (and for taking photos since I didn't take any).

I thought you were going to say that YOU were in the hospital. Sorry about your friend and I'm glad it wasn't you! :)
Glad you had a fun trip!
I'm glad we know someone that can take Sher and me on a personal tour some day. You can pay for us too with all the money you will be saving. :)
In the mean time, I'm ready to do dinner and get my personal report!! :)
what's "pavlova rhiannon"?
Glad you're back, that you had fun, and that you got us presents.....I mean prizes. And Pavlova is slavik. If my last name was Paul (in Czech it would be Pavel), then Kami's last name once we got married would be Pavlova. So, basically the friggin' Aussie's stole it! But yeah, what the heck is it?
Pavlova is NOT Kami. It IS, however, my favorite Aussie dessert. And, since the Australian people are a conglomeration of other countries, yes - they probably did steal it.
Pavlova is egg whites whipped with sugar until they are very, very stiff and then baked until the outside is crunchy. Then you whip cream and cover the baked egg whites and top it with passion fruit, strawberries, kiwi and if you're not Becky, shredded chocolate. It is amazing! But, kind of hard to make at our altitude.
