Saudade Struggle–A limiting sketch

More is changed than that one moment forever…

He never looked back

She committed her feet to the path as it slipped from her fingers
Her best decision ever made is my what might have been

The aftermath: so many dances he was wrong about
And a vast empty is left
Restless. I would not return.

Time, too, has followed him
They all depart, and yet – joy remains.

It has already gone. Let it! There’s a new moment, just around the corner–

Note: Saudade is a Portuguese word that does not have an adequate English translation. Look it up on Wikipedia if you wish. The above is my attempt to express some of its meaning over the last 20 years of my life – just a nostalgic reflection of sorts as I near a milestone.

Oh, we just HAD to get a "stay tuned" in there, didn't we?! hahaha!! I suppose beggars can't be choosers, can they? Thanks, bribed friends/commenters. :)

Wow.... I wasn't ready for that, kinda took my breath away... I think I read it 30 times...new tidbits formed and came together each time making the whole thing richer and deeper. So, few words, but was more like an 8 hour movie....

Positive- yes, because you had to....The Haunting....well, that is altogether another thing..... incredibly forceful.... and deep. So personal and vulnerable...felt a bit guilty even reading it... Anyone who is really "listening" at all will get smacked right between the heart because at the end of the day..... "it" is still down there, never to revisit.....but there. I could probably talk about this with you for hours.... Can't imagine what you went through to get it so refined and simple, yet so enormous and encompassing.

Thank you.... in many ways.

I think you would be invited to the Saudade hall of fame

Wow, so that Humanities degree wasn't quite worthless! :) (But perhaps the German portion was, seeing as you can barely tell me what you like to do in your free time). I think I get most of it, but you've put a good mask on parts, keeping them for you. Wise. I'm just glad that "joy remains" for you because you bring so much joy to all of us! Love you, Rambo!!!

AB: Thanks! Worthy for an invite to the Saudade Hall of Fame is about the nicest compliment I could have received. And, thanks for listening!

Rheading: Hahaha!! I am happy to know that the degree wasn't QUITE worthless. And, I'm glad you liked the joy part, because it refers to all of you. Love you too!!
